Each player must either call the bet by putting in the same amount of chips as any preceding player or raise them. Players can also drop, which means that they fold their hand and are out of the hand.

Tells are not only the tics that some players give off like fiddling with their chips, but also the way they play. This includes how quickly they call a bet. It’s also important to be able to distinguish between strong hands and mediocre or drawing hands.
